Besides the luxury of a period drama, director Renny Harlin "Legend of Hercules" is a profound re-imaging of the hero of Greek mythology Hercules, son of Zeus.
The film starts out in Argos 1200 BC, in which two combatant commanders engaged in a one on one battle to avoid bloodshed, reveals a voiceover: "A victorious war is chronic pain," and that's it.
At the time inciting the story is when Queen Alcmene realizes that her husband, King Amphitryon, "The kings of killer", blinded by greed, is not only ambitious, but also dangerous. It appeals to the goddess Hera a solution to stop the madness of the king.
The goddess appears to him and gives him a blessing. A child born with Zeus could save the country from the hands of evil king. It would be called Hercules.
Home is aware that Hercules is not his son, abused.
Twenty years later, the Amphitryon plots to kill Hercules as he was on an expedition to Egypt after he realizes that Hercules is in love with the Princess Hebe, already Ificles son, the heir to the throne promised.
Hercules with Sotiris mission commander, survive and sold as slaves. End up as gladiators before returning to Greece to start a rebellion against the host.
Kellan Lutz is a charming Hercules. Besides the fact that the macho and without fear, the script did not demonstrate a significant part of an emotional graph. It will be a brother shy and obedient son to a friend and leader affection and understanding.
Scott Adkins as Amphitryon Lutz match the performance and status.
Roxanne McKee Queen Alcmene, Liam McIntyre as a brave commander and loving father Liam Garrigan as Sotiris devious and underhanded Íficles are surprisingly impressive in their roles.
Gaia Weiss as Hebe princess is very rigid Rade Serbedzija while Chiron, the priest is wasted.
The sets are huge and recreate an authentic look and feel of the era. The costumes designed by Sonu Mishra are impressive and very striking. This is the best thing in the film, which gets an extra star in the notes.
On the surface, Renny Harlin "Legend of Hercules' has all the ingredients to be a mega blockbuster, but unfortunately, the film is stereotypical and lack of consistency in texture and tonal qualities. This is because the director generous use of famous scenes and movies of all situations, "Ben-Hur", "Gladiator", "Spartacus," "Iron Man 2" and "300" did.
In addition, the performance of all individual actors is perfect, but there is no synergy between the main actors and typical characters that make the film seem absurd at a time.
As visual compositions are uneven and irregular. CGI, especially cartoon lion and often full moon shown are of low quality.
The fight scenes are well choreographed poorly edited by any ridiculous experience awkward and saddled.
