Review: This is the second film this year on the basis of Hercules, son of Zeus. The first is with Kellan Lutz "The legend of Hercules", which launched in mid-January.

But unlike the previous film director Brett Ratner "Hercules" is a revisionist take on the classic myth, based on Radical Comics "Hercules" by Steve Moore.

The film begins with questions from the audience, "Do you know anything about the son of Zeus?" And goes beyond explaining the myth of the demigod Hercules and how he overcame the 12 dangerous missions before to be accepted as a legend. All this is said by a composition that forms a kind of prologue to the story.

Then moved the history of the Macedonian coast of Thrace, where you really find Hercules is the son of Zeus, but an orphaned mercenary, even disinterested, which over the years its reputation as a demigod, so you beautiful painting he himself has created. He is there to repel the pirates who ravaged the coast.

With him are a group of faithful warriors, and a narrator. They are; Mystical light Anfiarao (Ian McShane), his old friend and colleague Autolycus (Rufus Sewell), a warrior Tideo (Aksel Hennie) who suffers from PTSD, an ace archer (Berdal Ingrid bag) Atalanta and his nephew, Iolaus narrator (Reece Ritchie).

As Iolaus said: "rumors, legends grow."

Soon, Hercules and his group are confident Ergenia (Rebecca Ferguson), the daughter of Lord Cotis (John Hurt) in a civil war in a rebel army led by Rheseus (Tobias Santelmann) that nearly destroyed Earth Thrace wrestling.

Indeed, Hercules is the General in charge of the defense of the Thracian army. After training farmers to become a soldier, carry them in a bloody battle. Soon he is victorious and is rewarded with a lot of gold.

But instead of joy in victory, he realizes that can fight on the wrong side in this fight. Hercules is now faced with a moral dilemma. Will gold and walk-away should be or stay and fight for justice is at the heart of orgasm.

Halfway through the film, you realize that the premise of the story has a strong resemblance to the iconic Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai".

The performances are good and credible. With most of the characters have a background story is fun to flee comments together watching stupid stunts. There is also an overhead message; the need to believe in yourself to achieve great things.

There is too much attention to; the eternal debate about the fate against self-determination and conviction that people need a hero searching for someone.

Dwayne Johnson to head off a great screen presence as Hercules, but unfortunately in emotional scenes come across as stiff. Isaac Andrews as Arius, the son of Rebecca Ferguson Ergenia and did well in the emotional melodrama, while Ian McShane provides comic relief.

What keeps you hooked is rich earthy textures managers, impressive production values and excellent 3D effects.
