Review:  To start, Oculus has no resemblance to 2008 mirrors horror movies. This is by far one of the most skillfully made psychological horror film that puts you in hell, without resorting to Gore. The non-linear narrative structure superposition sees past and present, real and unreal, made with hallucinations and truth with deception as Kaylie brothers (Karen Gillan) and Tim (Brenton Thwaites), now in their 20s, in an attempt the mysterious death in the family resolution. Both tracks the mirror and put under observation, and surrender of his past once more terrifying.
Filmmaker Mike Flanagan should be commended for coming up with an unconventional original premise that much more than the standard clichés surprised offers or copies of documents. No tricks done to death, such as opening doors or the rational use of footsteps when no one is present. It is fear of the unknown that grabs you and creates a sense of growing anxiety at all. Located at different times, with the last kick of the moment, the movie plays games of the evil spirit that will make you think twice before rejecting the events as "hallucinations." The grotesque events challenged his sanity in doubt, just like the characters.

If you find creepy, stay away mirrors. And if you want to check yourself in the mirror, this low-budget thriller will force you to think differently.
