Review: A rich merchant (Dussollier) reaches difficult times. The decline in activity is something that you will not be as easy as restoring some really drastic measures are not taken. He has to take care of a large family (six children) and to take life in the big city, it's just not possible financially. He decided to move to the country and lead a relatively simple and rustic life in a peaceful environment.
His daughters, however, his old life and are naturally not happy at all used the idea. The only exception is the youngest - Belle (Seydoux) - Want to active softness, tranquility and an atmosphere that can soothe his gentle and curious soul.

Later, when in a forest, commercial enterprises in a country of magical mystery that nobody knows. The Beast (Cassel) influences here. The dealer is trying to steal something and gets caught by the beast, telling you that the flight will not go unpunished. Beautiful, tormented by guilt that his father is struggling to want to buy something nice, flies to the castle of the Beast and offers face punishment. The familiar story then goes so often said to complete fairy tale.
Goose opt for a fantastic tour instead of exploring the dark side of the story. He dresses his characters in costumes that look a bit tacky; although the red suit Beautiful contrasts times heavy at times with their environment. In addition, some of the scenes between Bella and the Beast are too cold. Where in the fairy tale, it is revealed that she loves him, you wonder if they are really serious that his screen chemistry is somewhat lacking. That said, the images are processed and that makes it later. However, there is much more than Goose could have done with this traditional tale story respected.
