Review: City Lights is a new official
version of the famous British
film Philippine Manila
(2013), a fact that more than
once has been restored during
the end credits of the film. It is a story of a family that comes to the big city, Mumbai - "a city where nobody sleeps hungry in the hope they
can do better in their lives.
Great frequently studied dreams of the city in literature and film. Many have agreed with the public. Sometimes the stories are heroic ascent, as in the recent Hawaa Hawaai and sometimes disappear on the main character in the vastness of the city - Do Bighaa Zameen. In a broader sense, is therefore probably the only Citylights support.
However, City Lights are bright and shiny. This is because the script and the characters he knows to open. Faced with the harsh reality, City Lights is a love story that touches you. Of course, the slogan "How far you go for the love of his family" sets the plot - a man tried to bring happiness to his family, by fair means and efforts in difficulty.
The name of the masterpiece of Charlie Chaplin City Lights (1931), a film by Hansal Mehta has some points in common with the iconic piece of film - a man who is willing to go through anything for his lady love . The protagonist Deepak Sigh (Rao Rajkummar) told his wife not to let anything happen to him and his daughter if he sees no end to their problems. The fact that the film you eagerly want scratching through the difficulties and create a bright side tunnel. You can not sympathize with the family.
Help the brightness of the address Mehta to act. Rajkummar Rao usual, at best, refuses to defraud. In his first appearance since recovering Prix Rao Shahid his skill an actor who can pull some difficult characters. Manav Kaul, appearing earlier in Kai Po Che is like a very confident actor. Debutante Patralekha affects its ability to maintain its position as a performer Rao. A scene of the confrontation with Rao is more than enough to show their abilities.
Mehta contest as director also reflected in the use of music in its history. Jeet songs are Gannguly like magic.
Of course, the film would be better. For someone who could definitely be shorter. I wonder if the director and editor-in-love with some of the plans that are so nice, I decided to keep looking. And compared to Metro Manila, is not so much an effect and not to extract statements to the faith that the Philippine film.
To write on City Lights is difficult. It's a film that many thoughts I prefer to close something that does not do justice to start writing the film. This is the direction of impact Hansal Mehta left in me. This film will enjoy it, and refuses to leave too long after leaving the theater. The numbers continue to harass.
